Perth’s town council meeting was held virtually on Tuesday night, with Mayor Fenik and skeleton staff present in the town hall and the other councillors joining from their homes via Zoom.
Mayor Fenik, who is serving on the board of the Perth & District Union Public Library board, shared a reminder that the library is open for curbside pickup during the lockdown. He noted that reading is good for mental health, and commended the library staff for going above and beyond to provide excellent care during the current lockdown: “Library employees reach out to regular users to check in, just to see how they’re doing – Wow.”
The library offers a panoply of online services to cardholders: users can borrow e-books and e-audiobooks, access newspapers and magazines, watch films, and join virtual programs such as Babytime and Storytime. For a complete list of services and offerings available online, visit www.perthunionlibrary.ca/services-during-covid19 .
Curbside pickup is available during the library’s modified hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1pm-6pm; Monday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am-4pm. The library is closed on Sundays.
Excellent service, as always!
