Outbreak declared at Perth Community Care

COVID-19
Posted on: March 5, 2021

The Health Unit is working with Perth Community Care to manage a COVID-19 outbreak. One resident has tested positive for COVID-19. The outbreak is not facility-wide, but restricted to one unit in the facility. A single laboratory confirmed case of COVID-19 in a resident or staff member is considered as a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak in the home.

“Enhanced infection prevention and control measures have been put in place to manage the situation.” says Dr. Paula Stewart, Medical Officer of Health.

“We are working with the Health Unit, staff members and residents to ensure the safety of all and our team is committed to containing this outbreak,” says Jennifer Cummins, Administrator at the Home. “Residents are following all protocols and we appreciate their patience during this difficult time.  Thanks also to our family members for their support.”
