It was a carbon copy of last Friday’s CCHL home game for Tyson Parker; with a different opponent.

Parker scored the overtime winner as the Smiths Falls Bears defeated the Navan Grads on Nov. 8 at home, in front of 537 fans – the highest number of people in the stands this season.

Parker had the OT winner last week against the Ottawa Jr. Sens.

On Friday though, it was a 1-1 draw through regulation with Smiths Falls getting on the board in the opening period. Jack Paquette scored his second of the season, assisted by Parker and Caeden Heins.

The win gives the Bears a 9-7-1-1 record for 20 points to sit atop the Robinson Division, tied with the Carleton Place Canadians. Overall, the Bears sit in the fifth spot – nine back of the Rockland Nationals with 31 points on an impressive 15-1-1-0 record.

Navan tied the game at 19:52 of the second, when Sebbie Johnson scored, assisted by Colin Holmes and Noah Carpenter.

After a scoreless third, overtime was forced.

Parker lifted the Bears to their 2-1 win with his 11th goal of the season, assisted by Quinn Booth and Hayden Ashcroft.

Smiths Falls outshot Navan 35-25 with Ethan Morrow taking the credit in the crease.

Tomas Gagne was hit with the loss.

Game stars were Ethan Morrow for Smiths Falls (first); Tomas Gagne for Navan (second) and Tyson Parker for Smiths Falls (third). Parker is listed in the top 10 for scoring in the league with 11 goals and 14 assists to sit in the No. 8 spot with 25 points.

Smiths Falls will be in Carleton Place on Sunday for an afternoon puck drop at 3 p.m.
