5 candidates are seeking 3 council seats, while Brian Dowdall appears headed for acclamation as deputy reeve
Incumbent Reeve Richard Kidd will face Tara Zwicker in the race for the top elected position in Beckwith Township.
Kidd and Zwicker are the two candidates who filed nomination papers for reeve before the nomination period for the 2026 municipal election closed.
Incumbent Deputy Reeve Brian Dowdall is the only candidate seeking that position and is expected to be elected by acclamation, subject to certification by the municipal clerk.
Five candidates are running for three councillor positions.
The council candidates are Tim Campbell, Hidie Jaber, Jessica McKenna-Kelso, Kerri Nicholson-Watson and Erin Rose.
The candidate list remains unofficial. The clerk is expected to examine and certify the nominations by Monday, Aug. 24.
The municipal election will be held Oct. 26.
