Beckwith Township man charged in child sexual assault case

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Beckwith Township resident with sexual offences.

Officers began an investigation on Wednesday July 9,2025, regarding allegations of sexual assault involving a child. As the result the investigation a 70-year-old Beckwith Township man was arrested and charged with:

• Sexual Assault on a person under 16 years of age
• Sexual interference

The male was released from custody and scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 25, 2025.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
