Breach investigation leads to child pornography charge

On August 10th, 2025 Smiths Falls Police Service received information of a possible breach of probation. Members of the Smiths Falls Police began their investigation and additionally learned that the subject of the investigation was also in possession of child pornography. The subject was located and arrested without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 28 year old male stands charged with possession of child pornography (x1) and failing to comply with their probation order (x3). The accused was held in custody pending bail court appearance.

On August 12th, 2025 Smiths Falls Police received further information that the accused was in breach of a non-communication condition while in custody at the correction facility.

As a result of this investigation, the accused was further charged with failing to comply with their probation order (x2). The accused remains in custody pending bail court appearance.
