Community Home Support Lanark County is inviting residents to gather in remembrance during its third annual Butterfly Release on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Stewart Park.
The free event offers families and friends an opportunity to honour loved ones who have died through the symbolic release of hundreds of Painted Lady butterflies, representing hope, transformation and remembrance.
Activities begin at 4:30 p.m. behind Perth Town Hall near the gazebo, with the butterfly release scheduled for 6 p.m.
The annual event has become a meaningful tradition in Perth. Over the past two years, hundreds of people have gathered to share memories of loved ones, many bringing photographs or personal mementos before watching the butterflies take flight in a moving tribute.
Community Home Support Lanark County encourages anyone wishing to attend to join the evening of reflection and remembrance. Donations in support of the organization’s programs and services are welcome.
