Nine pipe bands took to the field Sunday, Sept. 20 as residents and visitors gathered for the Carleton Place Community Scottish Tattoo, held this year in recognition of the Royal Canadian Legion’s 100th anniversary.
The Sept. 20 event was held on the grounds adjoining Captain A. Roy Brown Royal Canadian Legion Branch 192 at 177 George St.

The MacEóin-Ramsay Pipe Band served as the duty band under the direction of Senior Drum Major Darryl Lim. Two Highland dance groups also performed during the afternoon.
Organizer Ron Goebel described the event as one of the largest gatherings of its kind in more than three decades of the community’s Scottish Tattoo tradition.
This year’s event was dedicated to the centennial of the Royal Canadian Legion, which was established in 1926.
The Community Scottish Tattoo ran from noon to 4:30 p.m.
