On Friday, Dec 11, municipal councilors, county and town staff, childcare managers, families, construction firm management, and the Lanark County Warden, Mississippi Mills Mayor Christa Lowry gathered at the Francis Street Childcare centre in Carleton Place  (in a pandemic-safe manner) to cut the ribbon on the facilities new $2.9M expansion.

Staff and politicians alike expressed appreciation at the team effort it took to deliver the project while under the restrictions of a pandemic and with the original part of the building still in operation.  And according to a statement from the town, the project wouldn’t have come to fruition without the funding provided by the Government of the Province of Ontario under the Community -Based Early Years and Child Care Capital Program (CBCP).
