During Tuesday evening’s council meeting in Smiths Falls, Councilor Jay Brennan shared some news from the Heritage House Museum.
Heritage House will be participating in Doors Open 2023, an initiative of Kingston and Area Association of Museums. On July 22, from 10am-4pm, there will be guided tours indoors and out, and Councilor Brennan mentioned there may even be pizza in the outdoor oven.
Doors Open events are free for all to enjoy.
Councilor Brennan reminded council that Heritage House Museum will once again be hosting Movies under the stars this summer, and the inaugural movie will be shown on Thursday, July 6. Pre-movie entertainment will be the popular Little Ray’s Reptiles, and the feature film will be Super Mario Bros.
“I also want to thank our community sponsors for putting this on,” Brennan added. This year’s community sponsors include Optimum Health, ontrac, Lanark County, BlueDoor Spa, Tim Hortons, Royal Lepage, Remax, Andress’ Your Independent Grocer, and Gemmell’s Garden Centre.
Movies Under the Stars will run weekly each Thursday through July and August at Centennial Park (under the water tower in downtown Smiths Falls). Bring a chair or blanket for cozy viewing, and “bring your bug spray!” Brennan added.
