9 candidates are seeking the township’s 6 at-large council seats
Two sitting councillors are competing to become the next mayor of Elizabethtown-Kitley.
Councillors Rob Smith and Henry Oosterhof have filed nomination papers for mayor.
Mayor Brant Burrow is not seeking a third term, meaning the Township will have a new mayor for the 2026-30 term.
Nine candidates are running for six at-large council seats.
Three sitting councillors are seeking re-election: Earl Brayton, Dan Downey and Eleanor Leacock Renaud.
They are joined by Lawrence Knapp, Cam Woolley, Paul William Salmon, Leanne Kinch, Clint Thompson and Don Heron.
Current Coun. Christina Eady is not among the candidates seeking election.
The candidate list remains unofficial. The clerk is expected to examine and certify the nominations by Monday, Aug. 24.
The municipal election will be held Oct. 26. Elizabethtown-Kitley council consists of the mayor and six councillors, all elected at large.
