The race for Elizabethtown-Kitley council is beginning to take shape ahead of the Oct. 26 municipal election.
As of July 23, Rob Smith remains the only candidate to have filed for mayor following incumbent Mayor Brant Burrows’ decision not to seek re-election.
Six candidates have filed for the township’s six at-large council seats. Incumbent councillors Eleanor Leacock Renaud and Earl Brayton are seeking re-election, while Lawrence Knapp, Cam Woolley, Paul William Salmon, and Dan Downey have also entered the race.
An unofficial list of candidates is available on the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley’s website.
Nomination papers may be filed until 2 p.m. Aug. 21. Election day is Oct. 26.
