Firearm seized – Charges laid after 9-1-1 call for an unwanted person

On July 2nd, 2025, the Smiths Falls Police Service received a 9-1-1 call of an unwanted male attempting to gain entry into an apartment. Members of the Smiths Falls Police responded to the location to begin the investigation.

As a result of the investigation a 24 year old male from Smiths Falls was arrested near the scene without further incident. A firearm was also seized incident to arrest.

The accused stands charged with trespassing at night (x1), mischief (x1), obstruct peace officer (x1), carrying concealed weapon (xl), possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo (x1), careless use of firearm (x1), possession of weapon for dangerous purpose (x1) and unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm (x1).

The accused was held in custody for a pending bail court hearing.
