Fraud investigation leads to charges against former Valley Heartland GM

On the July 3, 2025, 44 year old Tina STEVENS from Ashton, Ontario was arrested by the Smiths Falls Police Criminal Investigations Unit in relation to an ongoing Fraud investigation.

Detectives from the Smiths Falls Police Service were working collaboratively with The Valley Heartland Organization who were the victim of fraudulent activity at the hands of Stevens, their then General Manager. Significant fraudulent activity spanning a period of 8 ½ years was uncovered.

The accused turned herself in to the Smiths Falls Police Service where she was charged with 1 global count of Fraud Over $5000 and was subsequently released on an Undertaking with a First Appearance date of August 11, 2025.
