Southeast Public Health (SEPH) has identified infection prevention and control concerns at Galleria Nails, Spa and Eyelashes, located at 438 McNeely Ave. in Carleton Place.
Clients who received manicure, pedicure or waxing services between July 4, 2023, and Aug. 12, 2026, may have been exposed to equipment that was not properly cleaned and disinfected.
These services are generally considered low risk for infections when infection prevention and control procedures are followed. However, improperly cleaned and disinfected instruments can potentially lead to the transmission of blood-borne infections such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C and, to a lesser extent, HIV.
At this time, no blood-borne infection has been linked to the location.
Galleria Nails, Spa and Eyelashes has taken immediate corrective measures and now meets the infection prevention and control standards required to operate safely.
While the risk of blood-borne infection is considered low, Southeast Public Health recommends clients who received these services between July 4, 2023, and Aug. 12, 2026, consult a health-care provider to discuss their personal risk and, if deemed appropriate, be tested for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV.
