Carleton Place Farmers’ Market
Saturdays at the Carleton Place Farmers’ Market in Market Square on Beckwith Street. The outdoor market runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and features local produce, meats, baked goods, maple products, flowers, artisan goods, and handmade crafts throughout the summer season. Kemptville events
Kemptville Farmers’ Market
Sundays, the Kemptville Farmers’ Market is held at 200 Sanders St. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market features local produce, baked goods, handmade products and community vendors throughout the season.
McDonald’s Corners events
Pig Roast
Saturday, Aug. 22, beginning at 3 p.m. at the McDonald’s Corners Agricultural Hall, 194 Cameron’s Rd. Dinner is served at 5 p.m. and includes roast pork, salads, corn and dessert. There will also be live music, beer and beverages and children’s activities. Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children.
McDonald’s Corners Agricultural Society Farmers Market
Sunday, Aug. 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Agricultural Hall, 194 Cameron’s Rd. The weekly Sunday market features local vendors, produce, baking and more.
Merrickville events
Suzie Vinnick
Friday, Aug. 21, 7:30 p.m., at The Pews, 100 St. Lawrence St. Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist Suzie Vinnick takes the stage for an evening of live music. Tickets are $40 plus tax and fees in advance or $50 plus tax at the door.
Outerbridge Magic: Mysteries of the Keyhole House
Saturday, Aug. 22, 2 p.m., at The Pews, 100 St. Lawrence St. Ted and Marion Outerbridge bring their magic and illusion show to the stage. Tickets are $26.78.
Mississippi Mills events
Almonte Farmers’ Market
Saturdays at the Almonte Farmers’ Market beside the Almonte library at 155 High St. The outdoor market runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with local produce, baking, meats, maple products, flowers, artisan goods and handmade items throughout the season. Pakenham events
Festival of the Wild Child
Saturday, Aug. 22, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at High Lonesome Nature Reserve, 867 Carbine Rd. The Mississippi Madawaska Land Trust hosts a day of outdoor exploration, discovery and hands-on activities for families. This year’s theme, “One Small Step,” explores how nature grows and changes, from acorn to oak, tadpole to frog and caterpillar to butterfly. Local naturalists and experts will lead activities along the trails. Admission is free for children and youth under 16 and $10 for adults.
Perth Ontario events
Perth Farmers’ Market
Saturdays at Perth Farmers Market in the Tay Basin at Crystal Palace, 31 Basin Ln., Perth. The outdoor market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. throughout the season and features local produce, baking, meats, preserves, artisan goods, crafts and live music. The 2026 season runs Saturdays to Thanksgiving weekend, with additional Harvest and Christmas markets planned later in the year. More information is available through Perth Farmers Market
Port Elmsley events
Port Elmsley Drive-In Theatre
The Port Elmsley Drive-In, 333 Port Elmsley Rd., has another weekend of movies lined up. On Thursday, Aug. 20, gates and the grill open at 7:30 p.m. with showtime at 8:40 p.m., featuring Spider-Man: Brand New Day (PG) and The Invite (14A). Admission is $15 for ages 13 and older, $6 for children five to 12, or $30 for carload night. From Friday, Aug. 21, through Sunday, Aug. 23, gates and the grill open at 7:30 p.m. with showtime at 8:20 p.m., featuring The Odyssey (PG) and Spa Weekend (14A). Admission is $15 for ages 13 and older and $6 for children five to 12.
Rideau Lakes events
Crosby Flea Market
Saturdays in Crosby from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning May 18. Located at the intersection of Highways 15 and 42 between Smiths Falls and Kingston, the Crosby Flea Market features baked goods, preserves, jewelry, maple syrup, antiques, household and garage sale items, crafts, toys, books, movies and more. A food stand is also on site, with locally grown vegetables to be added as they come into season.
Crosby G. Varley Gallery
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 12 Narrows Lock Rd., Crosby. The gallery features original oil, watercolour and acrylic paintings.
Crosby Stevenson Farms
Located at 360 Narrows Lock Rd., about two kilometres north of Crosby, past the Varley Art Gallery. Stevenson Farms offers locally raised lamb produced through an ethical farming system with no herbicides, pesticides or steroids. Products are sold frozen and packaged at the farm. Organic vegetables are also available in season.
Smiths Falls events
Smiths Falls Thursday Night Cruise-In
Thursday, Aug. 20, 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Settlers Ridge Centre parking lot, 275 Brockville St. The public is invited to come out and check out the cars. Weather permitting.
Movies Under the Stars: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Thursday, Aug. 20, at Centennial Park beneath the water tower. Pre-show entertainment featuring Dr. Kaboom Balloons and concessions begin at 7 p.m., followed by The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at dusk. Admission is free, with donations appreciated. Weather permitting. This is the final Movies Under the Stars event of the season.
No Strings Attached
Thursday and Friday, Aug. 20 and 21, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 22 and 23, at 2 p.m. at the Smiths Falls Community Theatre, 53 Victoria Ave. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students.
Smiths Falls By the Rideau Market
Friday, Aug. 21, 3 to 7 p.m., at Lower Reach Park, Old Slys Rd. The weekly market continues every Friday through Oct. 2 at its new location.
Wing Night at the Kinsmen Pavilion
Friday, Aug. 21, 4 to 7 p.m., at the Kinsmen Pavilion in Lower Reach Park. Enjoy wings and fries for $17. Takeout is available.
Let’s Roll!
Friday, Aug. 21, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Smiths Falls Youth Arena, 71A Lansdowne St. Bring your roller skates for an evening on wheels. Admission is $2 per skater. Helmets are required for those 18 and under and recommended for everyone.
Open Singles Dart Tournament
Friday, Aug. 21, at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95, 7 Main St. E. Registration runs from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., with darts flying at 7:30 p.m. Entry is $10 per player.
SFMHA Equipment Exchange
Saturday, Aug. 22, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre. Bring in outgrown hockey equipment or find gear to outfit your player for the upcoming season. There is no cost to participate.
Wetland Awareness Tours

Summer Train Rides
Sunday, Aug. 23, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario, 90 William St. W. Take a ride in a historic caboose, explore the museum and discover local railway history. Tickets are $16 and include museum admission. Tickets are available in the gift shop on a first-come, first-served basis.
Free Church Yard “Sale” and BBQ
Sunday, Aug. 23, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Lower Reach Park. Evergreen Bible Chapel hosts a free yard “sale” with clothing, books, kitchen and household items, baby items and more available to take home while supplies last. A free barbecue and sports follow. The church gathering begins at 10 a.m. and is open to everyone.
Westport events
Westport Market
Saturdays at 38 Concession St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The open-air outdoor market runs every Saturday from July 4 to Sept. 5 and features local vendors, artisans and seasonal products throughout the summer.
Paint the Summer Art Show & Sale
Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 22 and 23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Westport Arena, 37 Spring St. Browse works by artists during the weekend art show and sale. Admission and parking are free.
Live Music at The Cove
Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21 and 22, 5 to 8 p.m., at The Cove Inn, 2 Bedford St. Matt Dickson kicks off the weekend Friday with classic rock ‘n’ roll. On Saturday, Jason Kent of Young Petty Stones and Montreal band Sunfields performs classic rock ‘n’ roll and B-sides spanning the 1950s through the ’90s.
