Bake and Book Sale
Sunday, March 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rona, 535 McNeely Ave. 

Coldest Night of the Year
Saturday, Feb. 28, 4 to 7 p.m. Carleton Place Canoe Club, 179 John St. This meaningful community event raises vital funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in our region. We invite you to donate, volunteer, or join our team and help make a difference.

Mississippi Mills events

The Weber Brothers with Don Bray
Saturday, Feb. 28, 7:30 p.m. Live at the Almonte Old Town Hall, 14 Bridge St., Almonte. Tickets through Ticketsplease.ca. The amazing Weber Brothers, a duo (sometimes trio) from Peterborough, are joyful and musical. They always make for an animated and entertaining evening that is not to be missed.

A Stitch in Time: The Palestine History Tapestry
Sunday, March 1, 1 to 4 p.m. at Mississippi Valley Textile Museum. This is a selection of tatreez (Palestinian embroidery) pieces from the Palestine History Tapestry – a collection of over 100 hand-stitched panels by Palestinian women in refugee camps. On display until April 19.

Love Love Love at Sivarulrasa Gallery
Sunday, March 1, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show brings together works by artists Sarah Anderson, Gayle Kells, Peter Wood, and Mary Pfaff, exploring themes of love and life. Runs to March 20. 

Perth Ontario events

Seedy Sunday
Sunday, March 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Perth Civitan Club, Hosted by the Perth Farmers’ Market. This free event is held annually to bring the community together before the growing season so you can gather supplies for planting. The event includes free workshops, seed swap table, and a variety of seed sellers, food vendors and community groups.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake
Saturday, Feb. 28, bowling for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County is scheduled at The Spare Room Bowling Lanes. Also happening Saturday in Perth at The Spare Room Bowlilng Lanes. 

Smiths Falls events

Veteran Coffee
Friday, Feb. 27, 10 a.m. to noon at the Royal Canadian Legion, 10 Main St. Open to active and retired military and RCMP and families. Legion membership not required.

Open Singles Dart Tournament
Friday, Feb. 27, 7 p.m. at the Legion, $10 per player.

Wing Night
Friday, Feb. 27, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kinsmen Pavillion, Lower Reach Park. Wings and fries, $17, take-out available. 

Spaghetti Dinner
Friday, Feb. 27, 5:30 to 7 p.m. RCAF Hall at the Settlers Ridge Centre, Unit 5; $15, cash bar, all welcome. Registration recommended, 613-283-9292.

Firefighter Food Drive
Saturday, Feb. 28, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Jonsson’s Your Independent Grocer, Smiths Falls, hosted by the Smiths Falls Firefighters’ Association and the Merrickville Firefighters’ Association. 

Bowl for Kids’ Sake
Saturday, Feb. 28, Gratton Lanes, 39 Chambers St., (downstairs, back entrance); for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County. 

Toledo events

Sunday dance
Sunday, March 1, 1 p.m., Toledo Royal Canadian Legion. Featuring Harry and Cheryl Adrain, doors open at 1 p.m. dancing 2 to 5 p.m. Full course dinner at 5 p.m. Tickets $25. 

Westport events

Blues at The Cove with Miss Emily
Friday, Feb. 27, 7 to 11 p.m. at The Cove Inn. Immerse yourself in the intoxicating soul sound of Miss Emily as she takes you on a dynamic ride of ups, downs and all arounds. Enjoy a Blues at The Cove Series show with delicious dinner, world class music and support for local charity.
