Hometown Happenings Oct. 10 – 12

Almonte events (Mississippi Mills)

Friday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m., at the Almonte Old Town Hall, as part of the Festival of Small Halls. Juno-award and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and musician, classically trained pianist, actress, movie producer, philanthropist, humanitarian and proud wife and mother of three has recorded 10 albums. 

Irish Mythen
Saturday, Oct. 11, 7 p.m. at the Almonte Old Town Hall, 7 p.m. as part of the Festival of Small Halls. This performance is a globally acclaimed artist known for their raw vocal power, magnetic stage presence, and ability to forge deep connections with audiences.

Almonte Farmers’ Market
Saturday, Oct. 11, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., beside the library on High Street. Local produce, crafts, food. This is the last farmers’ market of the season. 

Carleton Place events

Ashley MacIsaac
Friday, Oct. 10, 7 p.m.,
at the Carleton Place Arena, as part of the Festival of Small Halls. $45. Ashley plays the fiddle with an intensity, authenticity and passion that is hard to deny.

Carleton Place Farmers’ Market
Saturday, Oct. 11, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Market Square Pavilion, 7 Beckwith Street. Local produce, baking and handmade treasures. 

Montague events

Craft Night
Friday, Oct. 10, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.
at the Rosedale Hall. This is a fall floral centrepiece evening and the cost is $15 per person. Cash bar, space is limited. Call the Montague Township office to register, 613-283-7478.

Rideau Lakes events

Friday, Oct. 10, 7 p.m. at the Newboro Community Hall, 7 p.m. as part of the Festival of Small Halls. This performance is a globally acclaimed artist known for their raw vocal power, magnetic stage presence, and ability to forge deep connections with audiences.

Perth Ontario events

Perth Farmers’ Market
Saturday, Oct. 11, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Crystal Palace. Riverside setting with produce, prepared foods and artisan crafts. Last market of the season!

Perth Autumn Studio Tour
Saturday, Oct. 11 and Sunday, Oct. 12, this is a beautiful way to experience fall in picturesque Perth and area during this event that has been going since 1993. There is an exceptional display of high-calibre, traditional and contemporary work in a wide variety of media. Check the website above and download your official road map, and enjoy the scenery along the way. 

Smiths Falls events

Open Air Market
Friday, Oct. 10, 3 to 7 p.m. at Centennial Park, 2-22 Confederation Dr. Pick up some produce, check out the crafters and artisans. Food available on site. 

Halloween and Craft & Artisan market
Saturday Oct. 11, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 12 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 7 Main St. 

Fire Prevention Week open house
Saturday, Oct. 11, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
at the Smiths Falls Fire Department, 77 Beckwith St. Come meet Sparky the Fire Dog, touch the trucks, look at firefighting equipment and meet the firefighters.  Try on turn-out gear, ask questions and learn important fire safety tips. Refreshments available.

Thanksgiving Train Rides at RMEO
Saturday, Oct. 11, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 90 William St. W. Tickets $19.56 at Eventbrite. Travel aboard a caboose, try the new caramel apple cider and tour the tracks on a vintage wagon ride! Fall in love with trains all over again.

Westport events

Live at the Cove
* Friday, Oct. 10, 5 to 8 p.m. Declan O’Donovan
* Sunday, Oct. 12, 5 to 8 p.m. Nolan Hubbard
