Ontario Provincial Police have identified a second set of human remains found on a Kelly Jordan Road property as those of Robert Lambert, a 75-year-old Montague Township man who disappeared in 2018.
Police said the remains were located on July 20 during the ongoing search of the rural property. A postmortem examination confirmed the identity. Lambert was reported missing to the Lanark County OPP on Nov. 30, 2018, after last being seen in early July 2018.
Lambert’s disappearance remained unsolved for years and was treated as suspicious. In August 2025, the Ontario government announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his disappearance.
The Kelly Jordan Road property has been the focus of an extensive OPP investigation since Oct. 30, 2025, when officers executing a search warrant located the remains of Robbie Thomson, who had been reported missing in 2023. Four people have since been charged in connection with Thomson’s death.
No charges have been laid in connection with Lambert’s death.
The investigation remains under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, working with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, with assistance from several specialized OPP units.
“Locating Robert Lambert brings us one step closer to providing answers to a family that has waited eight years,” OPP Det. Insp. Marty McConnell of the Criminal Investigation Branch said in a statement. “Our focus remains on following the evidence and conducting a thorough investigation. While we understand the community’s desire for answers, it is too early to speculate, and not all questions can be answered at this time.”
Police said residents on Kelly Jordan Road will continue to see an increased police presence as investigators remain at the scene.
