The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Yarker resident with impaired driving following a single-vehicle collision in Lanark Highlands Township.
Officers were called to the collision on Pine Grove Road on Monday, July 6, 2026, just after 6 p.m. Officers attended the scene with Lanark County Paramedic Service and spoke with the driver.
The driver was arrested and transported to the OPP detachment in Carleton Place for testing.
As a result of the investigation, Matthew St-Amour, 34, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired — blood alcohol concentration of 80 mg or more
- Operation while impaired — alcohol
- Failing to stop at a stop sign
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026.
The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days under the Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension program, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
