Perth resident facing charges following intimate partner violence investigation

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation in Perth.

Lanark County OPP officers responded to a disturbance call at a residence in Perth on Sunday, July 5, 2026, just before 6 p.m. Officers located the accused a short distance from the residence.

As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old Perth man was charged with:

  • Resisting a peace officer
  • Failing to comply with probation
  • Possession of more than 30 grams of dried cannabis in a public place

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth at a later date.

Police said the name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
