The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged a Lanark Highlands Township resident following an intimate partner violence investigation in Tay Valley Township.
Officers began investigating allegations of intimate partner violence on Friday, July 3, 2026, after being called to a seasonal property.
As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Mischief (two counts)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
Police said the name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
