The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged a Montague Township resident following an intimate partner violence investigation.
Officers began investigating allegations of intimate partner violence on Sunday, July 5, 2026, after a person attended a neighbouring police department.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault (two counts)
- Assault causing bodily harm (two counts)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
Police said the name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
