Lanark County OPP investigated a report involving intimate partner violence

Sexual assault charges laid in Beckwith Township

BECKWITH — The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Beckwith Township resident with offences including sexual assault.

Officers began an investigation on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, after being dispatched to a residence for a physical altercation. As a result of the investigation a 39-year-old man was arrested and charged with four counts of sexual assault which occurred over a period of several years.

The male was released from custody and scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
