Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges following an impaired-driving investigation near Lombardy and a dispute in Elgin.
Lombardy impaired-driving investigation
A Smiths Falls resident is facing several charges following a traffic stop on Highway 15 south of Smiths Falls.
Leeds County OPP say an officer conducting patrol observed a vehicle swerving shortly before 8 p.m. June 19. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was taken to the detachment for further testing.
Daniell Kendrick, 48, is charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired with a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, two counts of assault with intent to resist arrest and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on July 31.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
Charges laid following dispute in Elgin
Two Phillipsville residents are facing charges following a dispute at a residence in Elgin. Leeds County OPP officers responded to the incident shortly after 2 p.m. June 20.
Timothy Phillips, 55, is charged with three counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, two counts of theft under $5,000 and assault.
Monia Jones, 57, is charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order.
Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on Sept. 25.
