Eight concerts and eight local causes are featured in the new Listening Room Series season
The Listening Room Series is returning for another season, offering audiences an intimate live music experience while raising money for local charities.
Organized by Perth-area music supporters Steve and Sue Tennant, the series will feature eight concerts from September 2026 through May 2027 at the Oakfield Rugby Park Clubhouse, 2585 Drummond Concession 2.
Each performance begins at 7 p.m. and serves as a fundraiser for a different community organization. Tickets are $35 each, with seating limited to 65 people.
“We’re excited to present The Listening Room Series lineup for Fall 2026 through Spring 2027,” Tennant said in announcing the season. “I hope you’ll get out to support live music, wherever you are.”
The series opens Monday, Sept. 14, with veteran blues performer Morgan Davis. The concert will benefit Furry Tales Cat Rescue.
Canadian roots artist Rick Fines takes the stage Monday, Oct. 19, with proceeds supporting Our Perth Trees.
Singer-songwriter Michael Jerome Brown will perform Monday, Nov. 23, raising funds for the Perth and District Community Christmas Dinner.
The new year begins Monday, Jan. 18, 2027, with The Weber Brothers. Proceeds from that evening will support Grandmothers to Grandmothers.
On Monday, Feb. 22, 2027, blues musician Al Lerman will headline a fundraiser for the Mississippi Madawaska Land Trust.
Award-winning duo Champagne Weather will perform Monday, March 22, 2027, with proceeds benefiting The Table Community Food Centre.
Folk duo The Laws will take the stage Monday, April 26, 2027, supporting the Bright Strings Community Fiddle Orchestra.
The season wraps up Monday, May 17, 2027, with Maggie’s Wake. Funds raised from the final concert will go to the Stewart Park Festival.

Tennant noted that the concerts regularly sell out, encouraging music lovers to reserve their seats early while supporting both Canadian musicians and local charities.
