Mentorship Matters highlights the power of two-way mentorship for women leaders and entrepreneurs

CARLETON PLACE — Mentorship will be in the spotlight in Carleton Place this March as business leaders, entrepreneurs and emerging changemakers gather to mark International Women’s Day 2026 through bold conversation and purposeful connection.

On March 4, 2026, from 5 to 9 p.m., the Carleton Place and District Chamber of Commerce will host an evening at The Grand Hotel designed to challenge assumptions, build confidence and prove that mentorship is not a one way gift. It is a force for success.

The event’s theme, Mentorship Matters: Give to Gain, flips the traditional script by spotlighting mentorship as a two way exchange where experience, insight and ambition move in both directions, fostering positive outcomes.

Headlining the evening is Shelagh Cummins, a respected business strategist and advocate for women entrepreneurs. She will be joined by a curated panel of women leaders offering a range of lived and professional perspectives. Attendees will also take part in interactive mentorship circles focused on sparking frank dialogue and building lasting relationships.

“Mentorship is one of the most effective and often underestimated tools we have to support women in leadership, business and life,” said Jackie Kavanagh, general manager of the Carleton Place and District Chamber of Commerce. “This event is designed to go beyond inspiration and create space for meaningful connection, shared experience and real momentum.”

The evening is expected to draw business owners, professionals, emerging leaders and community builders from across Carleton Place and the surrounding region. Alongside the programming, participants can expect purposeful networking, support from local sponsors and opportunities to stay engaged long after the event.

Early bird pricing for chamber members is available until Feb. 6, 2026, with space limited.
