Incumbent Mayor Christa Lowry has filed nomination papers seeking a third term as mayor of Mississippi Mills in the Oct. 26 municipal election.
Lowry, who has served as mayor since 2018 after one term as a Ramsay ward councillor, is currently the only certified candidate for the municipality’s top elected office.
Incumbent Deputy Mayor Rickey Minnille has also filed for re-election, while incumbent Almonte Ward Coun. Jane Torrance is seeking another term on council.
No other municipal candidates have been certified as of Friday, July 17 according to the municipality’s election website.
Nomination papers may be filed until 2 p.m. Aug. 21. Election day is Oct. 26.
