Paper billing fee for water bills to start in 2026

MISSISSIPPI MILLS — Mississippi Mills will begin charging a $2 fee for residents who choose to receive their water bills by mail, starting with the first bills of 2026, which will be mailed in March. The fee, approved under By-law 25‑084, is intended to cover the costs of printing, envelopes, and postage, which currently total nearly $26,000 annually.

Over the past year, the municipality has informed residents about the upcoming fee through notices on its website, social media, newsletters, and water bills. More than 830 residents have switched to e‑billing, reducing mailing costs and avoiding the fee.

Residents who choose e‑billing will not be charged the paper billing fee. Full details are available in Mississippi Mills’ official notice.
