The third annual Multicultural Potluck on Mill Street will take place in downtown Almonte on Friday, June 26, 2026.
Residents are invited to join the celebration of the community’s diversity, unity and cultural traditions from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Lower Mill Street. In the event of rain, the potluck will move to Almonte Old Town Hall.
More than 150 people attended last year’s potluck, which brought residents together for a shared meal on Mill Street. Organizers say this year’s event will feature family activities, food and live entertainment, including Indigenous performers, an Irish band and a Ugandan dance troupe.
The Multicultural Potluck is organized by The Inclusion Project in partnership with Mississippi Mills Bicycle Month and the Town of Mississippi Mills. Additional support is provided by the Local Immigration Partnership, Culture Connect, the Mississippi Masonic Lodge, Mississippi Mills All My Relations and the Government of Canada.
A key feature of the event is the sharing of cultural dishes prepared by residents and community members. Organizers say the tradition helps build connections and encourages people to learn about different cultures. Participants are encouraged to sign up in advance to bring a dish or volunteer, although dishes may also be registered at the event.
Formed in 2023 in Mississippi Mills, The Inclusion Project is a community organization dedicated to celebrating, amplifying and honouring the diverse cultures represented in the community.
