The Mississippi River Health Alliance (“MRHA”) is pleased to provide an update on the progress of the highly anticipated new Emergency Department (“ED”) at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (“CPDMH”). While the project timeline has been adjusted, the facility is now in its final stages and is set to welcome residents early in the new year. A formal grand opening, planned just prior to clinical operations, will offer the community an opportunity to celebrate this milestone.

Throughout this project, MRHA has prioritized creating a state-of-the-art facility that meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and functionality. Designed with the needs of both patients and healthcare providers in mind, the new ED represents a transformative leap forward in emergency care for the community, both now and for generations to come.

“The new Emergency Department is a landmark achievement in healthcare for Carleton Place and the surrounding areas,” said Brad Harrington, President & CEO of the Mississippi River Health Alliance. “Every decision made during this project has been driven by our unwavering commitment to excellence. While we recognize the community’s eagerness, taking the time to perfect every detail ensures that this facility will exceed expectations and become a cornerstone of care for years to come.”

The grand opening in January will celebrate the vision, collaboration, and dedication of all involved in bringing this project to life. This milestone would not have been possible without the generosity of donors to the Healthy Futures. Together! Campaign. Both the CPDMH Foundation and the MRHA are collaborating on celebrations ahead of the building’s opening. The community is warmly invited to attend grand opening festivities with further details being shared in the coming weeks.

“The community’s share of the cost of the building and the needed equipment throughout the hospital amounted to $5 Million in this first phase of our redevelopment,” stated Robyn Arseneau, Executive Director of the CPDMH Foundation. “We are so very grateful to all of the donors who have helped make this new facility a reality and we can’t wait to celebrate with them soon” she added.

The revised timeline reflects MRHA’s dedication to delivering a facility that not only aligns with modern healthcare standards but also anticipates and addresses the evolving needs of the community. Current efforts are focused on final preparations to ensure a smooth transition into the new space, with uninterrupted care for patients.

MRHA extends its heartfelt gratitude to the community for your patience, understanding, and support as we work to complete this important project. As the opening date approaches, MRHA will continue to provide updates regarding the facility’s debut.
