100 Women Who Care Lanark County, did it again!!

Our charities this quarter were, Perth Enrichment Program for Older Adults, YAK Youth Services and Home Hospice North Lanark. They not only submitted a video telling us about their respective charities but also attended our zoom meeting and allowed us to ask a lot of questions.

We are pleased to announce that Home Hospice North Lanark is the recipient of this quarter’s donation. Thanks to the generosity of this local group of women, we presented a cheque in the amount of $6,700.

To date, 100 Women Women Who Care, Lanark County, have donated over $70,000 to local Lanark County charities.

Special thanks to meeting sponsors:
Teresa DuBois – Howard, Kelford & DuBois LLP
Kim McKenney – Dominion Lending Center

Who are we and how does our chapter work:

We are a membership-run initiative, we gather four times a year to learn about and vote on the suggested charities for that quarter. Members nominate the charities, three are selected and the charities share in five minutes why we should vote for their charity, then the group votes. We ask for a four-meeting or one=year commitment from all new members. Once the charity is selected, each women donates $100 (for which the charities provide a tax receipt), and that’s it – one hour commitment and $100 four times a year. Some women have chosen to vote online and not attend the meetings. Its what ever works for each individual and their chosen way to give.

100 Women Who Care is for you if you don’t have time in your busy life to volunteer but have been wanting to help those in need, and can commit to one hour four times per year; you want 100 per cent of your donations to go directly to a local charity; and you want your $100 donation to become a part of a larger amount of money by joining together with other women — creating a powerful impact in our local area.
