CDSBEO School Re-entry Plan for September 2020

The CDSBEO School Re-entry plan contains details to help parents with their decision on whether to choose remote distance learning or in-person instruction at school. It describes what we know to date about how both remote distance learning and in-person instruction will be done, and answers many of the questions parents have been asking.

Learn in school or learn online – it’s your choice:

The CDSBEO has created a survey to assist with planning for the new school year. Families must submit one survey per child. The deadline for submission is noon on Thursday, August 20. For any student for which a survey has not been completed, it will be assumed that the student will be returning in September to in-person classroom learning.

Look to STEO for transportation details

School bus service will continue to be provided for those who require it. Students will have an assigned seat on the bus for the year, and where possible, will sit with a sibling or someone from their class cohort. Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO) will provide safety protocol information directly to those who use the bus service. To decrease the number of students taking the bus, parents who are able to drive/walk their child to school are encouraged to do so.

We’re here to support you

Every family’s situation is different, and there is no right or wrong decision when it comes to returning to school in September. We want you to know whatever choice your family makes, we are here to support you. The safety and well-being of our students and staff is our highest priority. We understand that we need to be flexible during the pandemic to find solutions that work for each unique situation.
