We Shop Local and Eat Love Smiths Falls: boosting local economy

During Monday night’s Committee of the whole meeting, Economic Development manager Jennifer Miller assured Smiths Falls town council that as the Stay-at-home order continues, Economic Development is working with community partners to support small business owners. This is good news for those who wish to shop local and still stay safe at home: We Shop Local is coming to Smiths Falls. This will allow residents to shop online at one website and have items from different local retailers delivered to their homes. Interested businesses are asked to reach out to the Chamber of Commerce to be included; there is no cost to the business for participation in this program.

Following in the successful steps of Picnic Smiths Falls, and Merry & Bright, the town will be sponsoring a new micro economic marketing effort called Eat Love Smiths Falls. Eat Love Smiths Falls will launch in late February, offering local restaurants an opportunity to showcase their menus and be included in the town’s marketing efforts.
