Rural Community Hospice Day comes to Carleton Place

With generous support from the OutCare Foundation and in collaboration with Home Hospice North Lanark, Rural Community Hospice Day will be held in Carleton Place on Friday November 10th. Informal caregivers, medical professionals, students, hospice staff and volunteers from across Ontario are invited to explore The Power of Community Connection in Rural Hospice Care. This valuable learning and networking experience will examine the unique experiences of providing Hospice and Palliative Care in small communities. Whether you are a medical professional, and informal caregiver, or interested community member, everyone is welcome. Tickets can be purchased by going to the Beth Donovan Hospice website or using this link Rural Community Hospice Day

Themes for this event include support for the caregiver, hospital to home transitions, community paramedicine, and harnessing the power of community. We are excited to have a variety of speakers and presentations from Canadian Virtual Hospice, The Ontario Caregiver Organization, Amber Hultink with the Renfrew County Paramedicine program, Author and advocate Katherine Arnup, Suzanne Rintoul from the PEP Therapeutic Seniors Centre, Dr. Sarina Isenberg and Madeline McCoy from the Bruyere Research Institute, and Bereavement and Palliative Educator David Kennedy.

The event will run from 8:30 to 3:30 at the Carleton Place Arena. Tickets are $40 and include lunch and snacks. There are discounted prices for students and volunteers. For more information and ticket purchases please visit our website at bethdononvanhospice.ca
