Thurber street location of the Smiths Falls Child Development Centre reopened on Dec. 14

The Smiths Falls Child Development Centre, located on Thurber Street, is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated reopening of its facility on Monday, December 11th, 2023. As the community eagerly anticipated this reopening, the centre will once again welcome children and staff to its warm and nurturing environment.

The center is currently offering 10 toddler and 8 preschool spaces, some have been filled from the existing waitlist. To accommodate the reopening, the centre has staffed 5 full-time positions, with 3 individuals allocated from other locations and 2 new hires. The staggered start for additional childcare openings will ensure a smooth transition for both the existing and new families.

Looking ahead to the new year, the Smiths Falls Child Development Centre is excited to announce that 16 additional preschool spaces will become available. Prospective applicants are encouraged to apply and will be placed on the waitlist for these upcoming openings.

“We are delighted to reopen our Thurber Street location and continue our commitment to providing high-quality childcare services to the Smiths Falls community,” said Judy Arthur, Supervisor of Childcare Operations at the Smiths Falls Child Development Centre. “We are eager to welcome back familiar faces and extend our warm embrace to new families as we expand our offerings in the new year.”
