Danielle Rae named NDP candidate for Lanark-Frontenac in federal election

SUBMITTED

On Sunday March 30th, Pakenham resident Danielle Rae was named the NDP candidate in the riding of Lanark-Frontenac for the coming federal election.

Danielle is excited to be running for the NDP at a critical time for the riding and country. In addition to addressing the issues of the day, she wants to use the campaign to increase the visibility and engagement of people in Lanark-Frontenac with the NDP, a party she sees as the only one with the capacity to forge a better path out of the current economic crisis – a path rooted in equality and justice. On her reasons for running, Rae commented that  “I’m running to engage with my fellow citizens about Canada’s future, to give them space to share their hopes and fears as we navigate our way through the current crisis into a brighter tomorrow.”

Danielle has completed degrees in political science at University of Ottawa and McGill. She knows the challenges of the affordability crisis first hand. Though happy to be back home in Pakenham, the decision to come back was partly driven by being priced out of the rental housing market in Ottawa. She currently juggles two part time jobs, one as a legal assistant and another in a restaurant. Though a first time candidate, Danielle has worked on numerous election campaigns, including NDP campaigns in Ottawa Centre, Ottawa South and Ottawa Vanier.

Voters can reach Danielle’s campaign team at info@lfkndp.ca or through the Riding Associations Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/LFKNDP
