Town of Carleton Place hires new Director of Public Works

The Corporation of the Town of Carleton Place is pleased to announce that Guy Bourgon has been hired as the Town’s new Director of Public Works. Mr. Bourgon will begin his employment with the Town on Monday, July 13th. His hiring follows the retirement of former Director of Public Works Dave Young.

Mr. Bourgon comes to Carleton Place with 18 years of municipal experience. He has worked with the City of Ottawa as a licensed Engineer and Program Manager of Infrastructure Approvals and Development Review, and for both the Town of Arnprior and Municipality of Mississippi Mills as Director of Public Works.

“We are in a historical period of growth in Carleton Place and the Director of Public Works position is essential to managing the critical infrastructure needs associated with that growth,” says Mayor Doug Black. “Having Guy join us in Carleton Place will ensure the standard of strong leadership required to see us through this pivotal time.”

The Director of Public Works is primarily responsible for managing the operation of the Town’s infrastructure including sewer, water, roads, bridges, solid waste management, storm water management and fleet.

“I am looking forward to joining the Public Works team in Carleton Place,” says Bourgon. “It is an exciting time for the community with the amount of growth taking place and a number of large-scale infrastructure projects in the near future.”
