Send a cheer to Olympic hopeful Bailey Andison

During Monday night’s council meeting in Smiths Falls, Mayor Shawn Pankow encouraged citizens of Smiths Falls to cheer for hometown proud Olympic hopeful Bailey Andison. He suggested it would be wonderful for her to know that the people of Smiths Falls are behind her as she enters trials June 21 and 23 in Toronto.  If she succeeds at trials, Andison will be headed to the Olympic Games in Japan this summer.

The Olympic games were delayed a year due to Covid-19, and crowds will not be permitted at events. However, you can still make sure that Andison hears you cheering for her: visit cheeron.swimming.ca to write Bailey an encouraging note and record an audible cheer. The recordings will be used to create the crowd noise that the athletes will hear as they compete.

You can send a cheer to each and every one of the athletes vying for a spot on the Canadian Olympic Swim team.

The mayor added “Bailey, we’re behind you every step – I should say – stroke of the way!”

Best of luck to Andison from all of us at Hometown News!
