Norah McCarthy, President and CEO of Kawartha Credit Union, thanked the community for the warm welcome that Kawartha has received following the acquisition of Smiths Falls Community Credit Union.

“We are thrilled to be part of this wonderful community, and honoured to carry forward the proud legacy of Smiths Falls Community Credit Union,” said Norah McCarthy, who was joined by Martin Harris, Vice President of Member Experience, and Cindy Marchand, Branch Manager, for the ceremonial ribbon cutting to mark the successful transition.

Smiths Falls Community Credit Union was established in 1951, providing personal banking services and building lasting relationships with the community from a single branch at 1 Beckwith Street North. Branch staff will continue to serve the community as members of the Kawartha Credit Union team.

Kawartha Credit Union’s presence in Smiths Falls will help to ensure that the credit union experience remains a strong and accessible option for residents, business owners, and the community as a whole.

“We know there are many options for financial services in this community, but we believe what sets Kawartha apart is the personalized, member-first service we’re proud to offer – backed by a full range of financial solutions to support every stage of life,” said Norah McCarthy.

In addition to personal banking services, members can enjoy expanded financial solutions and conveniences such as online and mobile banking, competitive rates, business banking, wealth management services, and dedicated support from the Kawartha Credit Union Contact Centre.
