Local holiday shopping is rewarding

During Monday night’s council meeting, Councillor Wendy Alford shared some festive news for holiday shoppers in Smiths Falls. “I just want to remind everybody that this Thursday is ‘Shop the Christmas Block’ all along Russell Street. There will be Christmas caroling starting at 6:45pm in Davidson Courtyard. All of the participating businesses will be having extended open hours until 8pm. This is another great way that our residents can show some love to our battered business community. Christmas lifts everyone’s spirits.”

In the remaining time before Christmas, downtown Smiths Falls shoppers can also participate in the Downtown Business Association’s ‘Twenty Days of Giveaways.’ From December 4-24, by spending ten dollars or more at any participating downtown business, you will be entered in a draw to win Downtown Dollars. There will be extra draws and surprises throughout the month. Shopping locally is a great way to invest in Smiths Falls, pick up some truly special gifts for the ones you love, and be rewarded for your efforts.
