Lanark OPP investigating assault in downtown Perth

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an assault in downtown Perth.

On April 24, 2024, around 8:00 p.m., officers were called to a parking lot on Gore Street where two people had been shot by a pellet gun. The culprit then fled the scene.

Both victims are males in their mid-fifties.

Lanark County Paramedics attended the scene to evaluate the injuries and one of the victims was transported to hospital for further evaluation. Injuries to both were described as minor.

A second potential crime scene was located on Gore Street. Officers remained on the scene until April 25, 2024, as part of the ongoing investigation.

There is believed to be no threat to public safety.
