Town of Perth welcomes new Director of Legislative Services/Clerk

SUBMITTED

The Town of Perth is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda  Noël as the new Director of Legislative Services/Clerk. Having lived and worked in Lanark  County for several years, Amanda brings a breadth of knowledge to this position as well as  connections throughout the region. Previously Amanda has held positions with the  Township of Drummond/North Elmsley, County of Lanark, and, most recently, the  Township of Lanark Highlands.

This role is critical to the municipality as it’s responsible for ensuring compliance with  numerous pieces of legislation including the Municipal Act, the Municipal Freedom of  Information and Protection of Privacy Act, enacting by-laws, conducting municipal  elections, providing advice and guidance to Council regarding legislation that governs the  municipality, supervising by-law enforcement, the Provincial Offences Court, and more.

“Amanda comes to Perth following an extensive career in the municipal field, with  knowledge spanning various departments. I am excited to have her join our team and look  forward to working alongside her,” states Michael Touw, CAO. “Perth residents are  fortunate to have her stepping into this role, which is integral to the community.”

Amanda’s first day will be June 1, 2024, where she will have a period of training and  transition with incumbent Susan Beckel before Susan retires. We welcome Amanda to the  Town of Perth and look forward to having her join our leadership team at this critical time as  we continue to grow.
