The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital (the “Hospital”) welcomed two new members to the Board of Directors at the June 2024 Annual Meeting.

The Hospital’s recruitment search for new members in the spring attracted significant interest, which resulted in the selection of William Bromm and Mary Lou Hussak. The new members join an engaged group of volunteers who are committed to guiding the hospital bringing a unique set of skills and expertise to the Hospital Board.

“We are delighted to welcome our new members to the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Board,” said Dr. Warren Hollis, Chair. “Their diverse expertise and dedication to healthcare excellence will be instrumental as we continue to serve our community and uphold our commitment to patient-centered care.”

The new members have started their orientation and will officially join their first Hospital Board meeting in September.

William Bromm is a legal and policy professional who brings over 30 years of experience in many areas such as strategic legal, ethics and policy advice to the table. A resident of the Township of Rideau Lakes, William looks forward to utilizing his skills and experience to benefit the community he now calls home.

Mary Lou Hussak is a Certified Fundraising Executive with extensive health care and community organization experience. Having recently relocated to the area from the City of Sudbury, Mary Lou brings a broad community perspective relating to hospital and healthcare needs and support.

The annual meeting also saw the appointment of Dr. Warren Hollis, Chair, Richard Schooley, Vice Chair, Ken Clupp, Vice Chair and Michael Cohen, CEO and Secretary as the members of the Hospital Board Executive Team. \This leadership group will continue to work with the full board and the hospital team to advance healthcare excellence within the community.
