The Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario (RMEO) is pleased to announce a successful Trainfest 2022, welcoming more than 1200 visitors to Smiths Falls. The train rides of both event days sold-out and the museum was buzzing with railway enthusiasts from across the province and beyond.

“We love welcoming visitors driving from hours away coming to Trainfest to ride the train, see our museum, visit our model train exhibitors and enjoy the festival.” stated Tony Humphrey, President of RMEO.

Trainfest 2022 will include incredible train rides, model train exhibitors, petting zoo, artisan and food vendors, BBQ, children’s activities, and much more. RMEO expects thousands of attendees to attend Trainfest over the two-day event.

“We are so excited to welcome visitors back to RMEO to celebrate Trainfest with us! We are especially excited about the impact that welcoming day trippers has on the local community of Smiths Falls. Big thanks to our vendors and sponsors who make all of this possible.” Becky Allen, Executive Director of RMEO

This event welcomed just over 1,200 visitors, most of which come from outside of the Smiths Falls area, including Ottawa, Kingston, Peterborough and as far as Toronto and Montreal. According to the Ontario Government’s Tourism Regional Economic Impact Model, Trainfest provided $323,237 in visitor spending into the local community.
