Smiths Falls Police take swift action: Multiple arrests made in connection to intimate partner violence, harassment and more

Intimate Partner Violence – Warrant – Arrest

On Thursday January 24th, 2024, a 29-year-old was located and arrested on an outstanding warrant for his arrested stemming from offences relating to Intimate Partner Violence breaches. The accused was charged breaching their release order and a Conditional Sentence Order breach, he was subsequently held in police custody pending a bail hearing.

Intimate Partner Violence – Arrest

On Friday January 26th, 2024, police responded to two 9-1-1 calls, regarding an active Intimate Partner Violence incident.  Officer attended the residence and entered into an IPV investigation that led to the arrest of the accused for assaulting their partner. The accused was held in Police custody to await a bail hearing to answer to the charges.

 Sexual Assault – Arrest

On Friday January 26th, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police Service entered into a sexual assault investigation that conclude with the arrest of a 38-year-old for sexual assault X2 and sexual assault with a weapon. The accused was released from Police custody on a Form 10 Undertaking with conditions to protect the victim and a court date to answer to the charges.

Arrest – Warrant

On Saturday January 27th, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police and Ottawa Police Service located and arrested a 26-year old on an outstanding warrant stemming from IPV breaches and a Surety revocation. The accused was subsequently held in police custody pending a bail hearing.

 Arrest – Harassment

On Saturday January 27th, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police located and arrested a 32-year-old as a result of an investigation into criminal harassment. The accused released from Police custody on a Form 10 Undertaking with conditions and a court date to answer to the charges.

Arrest – Warrant

On Sunday January 28th, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police arrested a 69-year old who had an outstanding warrant for their arrest for breach of probation conditions. The accused was released from Police custody on a Form 10 Undertaking with conditions and a court date to answer to the charges.

Arrest – Breach

On Thursday February 1st, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police entered into a breach investigation when observations were made of a 33-year-old in breach of their current conditions. The accused was arrested and later released from Police custody on a Form 10 Undertaking with conditions and a court date to answer to the charges.

Arrest – Breach – Drug Offences

On Saturday February 3rd, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police conducted a traffic stop or speed. The investigation into the driving offence revealed the drive 38-year-old Kyle NERON was in breach of 2 undertakings. His subsequent arrest and continued investigation revealed CDSA and a prohibited weapon. The accused was arrested and charged accordingly, he was held in Police custody pending a bail hearing.  

Intimate Partner Violence – Arrest

On Sunday February 4th, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police received information regarding an active Intimate Partner Violence breach incident.  Officer attended into a local residence and entered into an IPV investigation that led to the arrest of the accused party for breach of court order X2. The accused was held in Police custody to await a bail hearing.
