The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a robbery in Carleton Place.

OPP officers were called to a department store on McNeely Avenue at 6:00 p.m. on September 30, 2024, when it was reported that a robbery was taking place. Two men had smashed a display case in the electronics department and removed multiple devices.

The males fled the store and left in a mini-van. There were no injuries during the incident.

An officer spotted the vehicle moments after it left the store, but the driver refused to stop. The officer did not initiate a pursuit for safety reasons, due to traffic in the area.

The robbers are described as:

  • Males
  • 22-27 years of age
  • 5’10 (178 cm)
  • One was wearing a white hoodie and black pants
  • The other was a green/greyish sweater and black pants
  • Both men were black medical masks and blue gloves

The vehicle was a white Honda Odyssey with Ontario licence plate DAJM655. The plate had been reported as missing from another vehicle.

If you have any information, or have relevant dashcam video, contact the Lanark County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 and refer to incident E241311672. If you want to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or report online at Ontario Association of Crime Stoppers.
