CARLETON PLACE — Lanark County’s Ukrainian Festival is making a vibrant return this year, bringing Canadians and Ukrainians together through music, food, tradition and connection.

Following the success of previous years, the event once again invites guests to experience the richness of Ukrainian culture, from authentic cuisine and traditional crafts to music, art and business networking. The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 13 at Riverside Park in Carleton Place from noon until 8 p.m.

Organizers say this isn’t just a cultural celebration. It’s a heartfelt community gathering rooted in authenticity and small-town spirit.

“We don’t aim to be the biggest, we strive to be the most genuine and meaningful. Our goal is to create a space where Ukrainian roots meet Canadian hearts,” said organizers from the Ukrainian Fest Lanark County team.

  • Live Ukrainian music and dance performances
  • Traditional food tastings, including borscht, varenyky and other cultural dishes
  • Artisan market, creative workshops and cultural exhibitions
  • Family activities, contests, inflatables and entertainment for all ages
  • Ukrainian-Canadian Business Speed-Dating, offering networking opportunities

Purpose beyond celebration

This year’s event includes a charitable component, with funds raised supporting the Kids of Ukraine Project, an initiative aimed at restoring the mental health of children affected by war.
