Starting on Wednesday, April 8th, the Municipality will begin enforcing the Provincial Emergency Orders which prohibit gatherings of 5 or more persons and the use of public and private outdoor recreation facilities. The outdoor recreation closures are for any shared or communal recreation spaces that are on private or public lands.

Municipal By-law Enforcement Officers will be patrolling the community to advise residents of the physical distancing requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Municipality joins our partners at the Ontario Provincial Police and the Leeds Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit in providing enforcement of the Emergency Management and Civil Protections Act and appreciates your cooperation during these unprecedented times.

The Emergency Management Control Group met this morning and came to this decision in order to protect residents and help curb the spread of COVID-19 in our area. Mayor Lowry urges “all residents to follow all directives from Public Health as well as the Emergency Orders from the Province.”

We will continue to provide updates to residents and remind everyone to follow Provincial Emergency Orders and take the necessary measures to protect yourself and loved ones.

Keep well and stay safe.
