On July 23, 2020, officers from the Carleton Place and Lanark County Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a family dispute at a residence in the Town of Almonte just before 10:30 a.m.

Information was that an adult male attended a residence causing extensive damage then returned to his own home refusing to come out.

Officers were assisted by members of the OPP Crisis Negotiation Team, Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Tactics & Rescue Unit (TRU) and in having the incident come to a peaceful conclusion before 3:00 p.m. where the male surrendered to police without incident.

The incident is still under investigation at this time.
